To my children as you grow

Hello to my wonderfully diverse kiddies.

I am writing this on an anti bullying campaign week. I hope and pray you never experience bullying.

I hope you grow to learn different is not wrong it’s amazing.

I hope you feel you have a voice and realise no matter what if your being bullied I will do whatever I can in my power to stop it.

I want you to always remember that different is beautiful, that different isn’t weird it’s just another persons normal.

Know that no matter what I am here for you. If someone has made me feel worthless and is nasty then tell me as I care! Bullies say ‘no one cares’ but I do and I will wipe your tears, I will reassure and I will build you back up again. I will protect my babies no matter what.

I want you to always say kind words to people. If your going to say a negative thing, stop, think about how you’d feel, and then walk alway. No one should ever feel belittled, intimidated or scared and I would be distraught if you were causing the pain.

Different is beautiful, that different isn’t weird it’s just another persons normal.

You are all so special and all so wonderful. Never feel alone. Remember 1 good, trustworthy and loyal friend, that will stand up to the bullies and still be there for you when the bullies make everyone scared to be friends with you, is better than 100 ‘so called’ friends that peer pressure you into being a bully, that go away at the slightest sign of you having a difficult time.

Bullying is real and I hope I’ve brought you up right that you will love yourself no matter what anyone says to you.

Love Mum x

You were told to wear odd socks to show that we are all different and get the same.
